County facilities used by departments that are owned by the County are in fact owned and operated by the County under direction of the Board of Supervisors and managed by the General Services Agency. The responsibility for construction, maintenance, and remodeling of buildings is vested in the Director, General Services Agency.
Because of the close ties to the Building Maintenance Department, careful attention is given to the maintainability of products used in projects. Location, serviceability, sustainability, resource conservation and reliability are also factored into each project. Every attempt is made to use County-wide standards for hardware, fixtures and accessories to enhance maintainability and reduce inventory of spare parts.
